The catholics

"Acclaimed instrumentalists The catholics have returned to their trademark sound of fusing jazz with world music... An album packed with influences from African beats to island jive, and straight jazz. Perfect for a dinner party or a chilled afternoon on the couch."

Lloyd Swanton leader, bass
Sandy Evans soprano and tenor saxophone, flute
James Greening trombone, pocket trumpet
Jon Pease electric and acoustic guitars
Bruce Reid slide guitars
Fabian Hevia percussion
Hamish Stuart drum

The catholics’ sixth album, a return to their trademark blend of jazz with global grooves, after the one-off ambient atmospherics of “Gondola”.

Their first release on their own Bugle Records label, it was distributed by a company which sadly went bankrupt, and hence the album is no longer in print.
