Ten Part Invention was created by the legendary drummer John Pochée OAM as a flexible medium for Australian jazz composers and improvisers. This recording features nine tracks of swinging, moody jazz written by or commissioned for the ten piece band. The horn section comprises some of Australia’s most famous players. This inventive and energetic rhythm section was renowned as The Engine Room. Sandy Evans composed Tracks 5 and 6. |
