Dynamic ensemble austraLYSIS makes improvised music within and beyond novel process and structural constraints. Since 1994 it has focussed on computer-interaction and electroacoustic elements, while foregrounding the brilliance of its internationally renowned performers, Roger Dean (leader; piano, computer); Sandy Evans (saxophones); Phil Slater (trumpet); Greg White (computer, virtual instruments, sound projection). The group has performed in 30 countries, and made 30 albums, including Dualling (2024: Earshift 085, acclaimed a review in the Australian), from which it will perform several pieces alongside new work.
“the album reflects the ensemble’s fascination with the creation of new sounds and structures, inspired by the relationship between scientific and artistic processes.” – Jeremy Rose (Earshift)
